Dr. Christin Topper is the Head of Student Support Services and Whole School Educational Psychologist at the Western Academy of Beijing, China. With over two decades of experience in international school settings, she specializes in inclusive education, student mental health, and holistic support services.
Her journey began with a passion for neurodiverse child development, enriched by early roles in counseling and special education, and shaped personally as a mother of two neurodivergent daughters. This dual perspective informs her dedication to creating inclusive, empathetic, and equitable learning environments.
Among her notable achievements is the establishment of an equine therapy program at WAB, partnering with a local NGO to support neurodiverse elementary students. This initiative fosters emotional regulation, confidence, communication skills, and leadership among participants, while strengthening community collaboration.
Dr. Topper is a recipient of the Walden Scholar of Change Award and the IFIP Global Inclusion Award (Social Impact). She brings a values-driven approach rooted in empathy, collaboration, equity, and authenticity, advocating for inclusive practices that empower every learner, family, and educator. At the World Inclusion Congress, she will share strategies for multidisciplinary approaches to foster belonging, support neurodiversity, and promote mental health in school systems.
Inspirational Quote: “Diversity is a fact we have, Equity is a choice we make, Inclusion is an action we take, and Belonging is the outcome we seek.” – Arthur Chan
